Care Guide

Caring for Hand Block Prints

The first wash
Natural dyes may release a little colour at first. Wash the first time separately in cold water with a little salt, and soak for no more than a few minutes.
Everyday washing
Hand wash gently in cold water with a mild detergent. Do not wring; press out the water and dry in the shade, inside out, to protect the colours.
Silk modal & hand-painted
We recommend dry cleaning for silk modal and hand-painted pieces to keep the sheen and the paintwork perfect.
Why prints vary
Every block is pressed by hand, so you may see small overlaps, gaps or colour shifts. These are not flaws: they are the fingerprint of the artisan.
